Known as Château de Costaérès, this architectural treasure stands atop its island’s highest point, surrounded by crystal-clear waters. Built in 1895 by the visionary inventor Bruno Abdank-Abakanowicz, the castle has a rich artistic legacy, having hosted renowned Polish creatives, including Nobel laureate Henryk Sienkiewicz. The writer found inspiration here for his celebrated novel, Quo Vadis.
Though privately owned, this fairytale castle can be admired from the surrounding coastline. Take a hike along the Sentier des Douaniers, one of France’s most stunning coastal trails, or book a boat tour for a closer view of the château's dramatic stone façade and pink granite cliffs rising from turquoise waters.
